The biggest mountains include Saddleback, Sunday River and Sugarloaf, all within driving distance of Point Lookout. Wherever you choose to ski you’ll find great facilities and ski schools, and lots and lots of snow.
Snowshoeing and Nordic Skiing
Snowshoe rentals are available at the Point Lookout Fitness Center for a fee of $10/day. Nordic Ski rentals are available through Maine Outdoor Sport for a fee of $20/day. Trails for both activities are available on the Point Lookout property or 5 minutes away at Tanglewood Camp and Camden Hills State Park.
Ice Fishing and Hunting
Ice fishing and hunting are also popular Maine winter sports for outdoor enthusiasts. There are more than 15 lakes within 30 minutes of Point Lookout and although hunting is not allowed on the Point Lookout property, it is a year-round option in Camden Hills State Park, only five minutes away.
